Time Sensitive: Flat Tire Situation
Hi,
I have reached a record high of flat tires in two weeks. Here is the scenario:
Last Thursday, I got a flat tire on the rear passenger side. AAA and Discount Tire later, I ended up getting all 4 tires replaced due to all wheel drive.
This Tuesday, I got another flat tire, same tire location as above, and used another tow to send the problem back to Discount Tire. They could not figure out why my tire went flat, but gave me a new tire and sent me on my way.
Last night, I got another flat tire, can you guess, yes the same location as prior. When I dropped the key off, the manager said it could be due to a crack in the wheel in which would need to be sent out to get fixed. Now, Discount Tire is saying that the wheel was corroded and they fixed the problem without having to send the wheel for repair.
Due to flat tire #2, I have very low confidence in Discount Tire's ability to effectively diagnose my tire issues. I am afraid to get yet another flat tire once I drive my car off the Discount Tire lot and would very much appreciate advice with regard to other ways my tire could continuously become flat.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Julia

I'm not an expert, just a shadetree mechanic.
Since it is the the same wheel each time, it probably is a wheel problem rather than the tire. If the tech cleaned the wheel of corrosion properly, it should be ok. If not, take the wheel to a wheel shop for diagnosis. If you have a full size spare tire, swapping with the spare tire would be an alternative.
BTW I've dealt with Discount Tires exclusively for the past 10-15 years and have not experienced any problems they could not handle.
Good luck
