Transmission for 2003 Audi A4
So my trans broke on me a couple of weeks ago and have been looking for a replacement. The problem is there are a ton. I think I found out which one belongs in my my car but I need help to make sure. From what i've learned if the 8th digit in you VIN is E then you will have to get a different trans then if it were some other digit. Is this true? Thanks in advance.
Here is how to decode th VIN. I don't see anything about the trans. In the Bently Service Manual it shows all the trans having 3 digit codes. Example: 01V, 01J, 09L, etc.
What are the specs of your car and I'll see what I can dig up in the manual to help? I need year, engine size(1.8, 2.0, 3.0, or 3.2), FWD or Quattro, and if you know if you have 5spd, 6spd, or CVT.

Cant help you with figuring out what tranny you have, but if you are still shopping check out www.europeantransmissions.com Have been looking at their site lately. Prices look good. Located just outside of Atlanta
