I am selling a 2003 Audi A4 1.8turbo Quattro with only 44,000 miles. The transmission is doing something very strange. The other day, as I was driving down the road, it wouldn't shift up. It kept revving and never shifted. I noticed that the guage where it would have the gear highlighted that you were in, was all lit up, as if it was in all gears (P,R, N, D, S)at once. So I pulled over, put it in park, and turned it off. I then turned it back on and it worked fine. This time the "D" gear was highlighted. It didnt do it again until the next day. I repeated the same steps and it was fine again. The check engine light came on, so I went to advance and had the codes pulled with a generic OBDII scanner. It came up as some transmission solenoid or something like that, I cant remember exactly what it was. But it was to the effect of a solenoid or module. What can this be and how much will it be to fix it?

Also, I'm selling it for $13000. Would yall reccomend fixing it and selling it for the price listed, or selling it at 11k or 10k as is? What would yall reccomend? Thanks!

 

I have a 2000 audi a6 with the same exact problem, the code i got was p0757, Shift Solenoid B Stuck On, i'm planing to get it fix some day next week, i searched all over the internet and i found the solenoid to be $124.00 the cheapest. As soon as i get a price from my mechanic i'll let you know how much it was.. which im hoping wont be that expensive. ((hopefully))

if i stop at a light, and try to accelerate my car's rpm revs. but not my mph, i really have to step on the gas so the car can change to the first gear, which makes me feel like im hurting my car, as soon as it gears up to the following gears it runs normal, even though the check engine light is on and the guage is lit up like if it was at all gears at once.. just like yours.
