Default What Could Be Wrong

I have a 2004 A4 Quattro with about 56K miles and out of nowhere one morning the car started jerking (maybe misfiring)on the interstate and then finally died. It started back up and got about another mile before it died again and couldn't be restarted. The Check Engine Light never came on and the car either won't turn over or if it does it dies right after it revs up. All it shows is the red battery light. Does anybody have any idea about what might havehappened?

Thanks In Advance

Could be a lot of things but fuel pump and or pluggedfilter would be top on my list. Did you just gas up? Bad gas maybe, i.e. water in gas.
