Default Window Does not move

Hello, there. Happy Holidays!

My Audi A4 B6 1.8T base model car starts to show problems. All the windows stops working with their own switches on the door panel. But they work with the master window switches besides the driver. Also, within the four switches in the master window switch unit, the one which controls the driver front side window cannot work (no sound from the motor). The rest (3 switches) can work. And all the motors with 3 windows (passenger front and rear, driver rear) can work.

All in all, the three windows can work with the master switch, but not with their own switch. And the driver front window cannot roll up/down.

Did anyone have same or similar problems before? Any advice is highly appreciated. Will the dead driver front window cause the malfunction of the other three switches?

Thank you all.

Thank you, Dan1969. Do you mean the entire master switch go bad? But why three of the four switches on the master switch can still trigger the window movement? ... Does it go bad one by one ?....
Thanks.

Usually its not the whole switch module. Like in your case I would suspect just the one that locks out the other door switches is prolly bad. You can pull it out and take a look. Someone in another post said they're only like $20 on e-bay thoough if you need a whole new module... dunno.

^^^ what he said...

The bad thing about it is that if one part goes bad on the switch you have to replace the whole thing. E-bay is a good place, if not ECStuning or urotuning are another good choice for brand new ones.
