Hi Guys,

I have a strange problem in that my wipers have decided to stop working and also my Fog lights (front and rear).
The car was recently in the garage getting a new gearbox fitted, but after taking it back to the garage, they assure me that there is nothing that they could have dislodged etc that would cause them to stop working.
They ran a quick Diagnostics check and received an error code along the lines of
or something similar (not sure of the exact code).
The battery was disconnected when they were last working on the car and i have noticed a number of irregularities such as when i first got it back, the clock needed to be reset (normal enough), the electric windows wouldn't do their auto up/down function, but still worked if the switched were held up or down (this has since fixed itself...) and today the ESP light on the dash came on and couldn't be switched off, but turned off after driving a few meters...

Does anyone have any ideas about the solenoid thing? I'm not sure what exactly a solenoid does so if you could explain that would be great...

Also, any idea what sort of price we are chatting if this needs replaced? Seems like i've been throwing money at this car ever since i bought it...

 

Did u check your fuses???

 

I dont think Solenoids have anything to do with the electrical system ))

 

I checked the fuses and changing it doesn't make any difference...

 

fuse # 36 = front and rear fogs
# 24 intermittent wipers
there are relays for this as well which are located behind the main fuse box on the side of the dash board,

other problems are because they didn't reset everything when they disconnected the battery and they should have carried out a drive cycle
