I recently bought a used A4 convertible and had an issue with the top not closing. Rumor has it there is a series of manual steps that will reset the top when it gets stuck in the half open position (or closed position for those pessimists out there).

I was also told the car needs to be on a relatively level road to put the top up or down or it will jam up.

I have had the same problem with my top..just took it to mechanic and they say i need a new covertible top control manual..$800 plus a new transmission control module $2300..hating my Audi so far!! Let me know if you find anything out

 

That sucks. I haven't had it back to the dealer yet, but it's still under warranty. I'll let you know what they say.

 

1. When buying a NEW German car, always spring for an extended warranty.

2. When buying used, always buy a CPO car or just keep on moving along.

You will save yourself a ton of headaches. Good luck and I hope you guys are warrantied.
