Cam follower can definately fail at 27K miles. I've seen it. I recommend changing every 30K to be on the safe side. I've seen the coating wore off at 30k as well as holes in them. Usually they last a little longer.

i guess anything can happen to any car at any time but to even consider this as normal is not correct. i'd consider it as very rare. and again, the first two codes have nothing to do with the follower or fuel pump.

I agree that the a lot of the appeal of an Audi is the cutting edge technology. It's one of the reason I like them so much along with the styling. I'm just being bitter at the moment having to shell out $785 for the intake flap motor and another sensor to be replaced. (You were right about what was wrong)

And as for the cam follower; the Audi dealership gave me a free cam follower after I complained a little about the price and this happening to a car with only 27k miles. I will be replacing it myself over the long weekend when I finally get a chance. I enjoy working on cars myself but with owning my own supplement store and supplement site i rarely have the time.

be sure to disconnect the fuse that fuse that primes the fuel pump when the drivers door is opened.

I'll be sure to take out the fuse. I hear it prime when it opens and I was gonna ask about that. The a4 drives so much nicer with the new intake flap motor and sensor. Now I have a bulb out. It says left parking light out idk which one that even is.

i noticed no difference in how the car ran before and after the intake runner flap motor failure/fix. some say the milage is affected-which makes sense.
