Hi all,
My workhorse is sick! My auto box has suddenly lost drive and the revs go up with no power to the wheels. It still goes but feels like what a manual with a slipping clutch would feel like. It corrected itself for a few miles then came back again. The emission control system light has now caome on but is not flashing!

Any advice or ideas would be greatfully received

If you've got a check engine light, you need to get the codes before anyone can really start helping with what's going on.

 

Having stripped and cleaned the EGR valve it turns out to be worn drive gears in the valve opening mechanism - Not good as the car only has 64.000 miles on it!
