B7 2.0T Oil Consumption?
Even though I'm not an Audi guy, I used this board to help my daughter buy her '07 CPO 2.0T. (No longer in warranty.)
I had a hard time getting her to measure consumption, but finally succeeded, and she got 1800/qt. That's pretty bad by my standards, so I fired up my cmptr. to check with you guys. I found bad results with other models, but nothing in 10 pages on this board.
What's up with the B7? I found two levels of fixes with other models. Does either do anything for this car - and - will Audi do anything for an out-of-warranty car?
Thanks guys,
Richard
PS
I'd be happy with leads to applicable threads.

1 qt every 1800 miles sounds a little high in usage. There have been several threads on this topic. Some people have no or very little oil usage (I am at about 1/2 qt every 2500 miles). I think the seals in my turbo are starting to leak. At 117k miles that isn't to bad. Others use more and some lucky ones use none. You can have Audi do an oil consumption test and see what they say. Check the top of your engine and see if it has an oily film to it. If so sometimes a new oil cap and PCV will stop that from happeing, but that wouldn't add up to your usage amount.
It's an almost 7 year old car now. It could be something as routine as valve cover gaskets. Do you (or she) smell any burning oil from the car, especially after you turn it off from driving it around a bit?
