oil consumption

RE: oil consumption
I think it depends on where you live as the terrain effects the oil consumption.
I also have a '01 1.8T and I had to fill up it once before it hits the regular 3,000 oil change.
There is also a warning that tells you when your oil is low (I wouldn't relly on this as I don't 100% trust computers).

RE: oil consumption
Should not be more that 300ml per 3000Miles.
To see the turbo seals, just take off the exit pipe off the turbo. and check if its wet.
If not wet, then ether valve seals, or rings.
take off spark plugs, and check the treat, if wet then its the valve seals.
if not, then do a compresion test, but most likly its the rings then.
other thing is the breather pipes, but they should not be any clogth in them.
Wet tail pipe is on the outside, not the inside of the tail pipe. about 5mm on the tip.
Wet=oil
dry black=rich
if wet inside, thats just condinsetion.
