big problems
Hey everybody, I have had a major problem with my 07 B7.
The other day I was coming home from work and my turbocharger went on my 2.0t, there was a sudden loss of power, thick smoke (white) from the exhaust and the car began to shudder. It took me a few minutes to get the car to a safe location, while getting over the low oil pressure light came on. I got the car shut down and let it rest for a bit. When I checked the oil I was now down a quart. (checked oil at last fill up and was on the money) I added a quart which I had in the trunk, and limped it home. The car is seriously lacking power, and if I tried to accelerate past 2000RPM (6 speed) it would shudder and bellow a thick white smoke from the exhaust.
I managed to get her home, but when I was waiting to turn onto my street she was idling very rough, felt like a cylinder was down and it died at the end of the street. I managed to get it to my driveway and park it, but it's totally dead now.
Any ideas on what may have happend? What was the cause of the white smoke? and a rough estimate to repair?
Any help would be much appreciated.
PS the name is Scott and I'm new to the forum!

Greetings and welcome to the forums!
I'm sorry to hear of your problems, that kind of malfunction is never fun
That said, I'm relatively new to the B7 scene, as well as the turbo scene so I'm still learning myself, but I'll try to give you somewhere to start so others can chime in and help you out
My past experiences are with a B5 2.8, hence my lack of turbo knowledge, but I drove that car for four years and spent equally that amount of time on these forums, so I've picked up a few bits of knowledge about these cars.
First and foremost, get an OBDII scanner and see if the ECM stored any codes from this mishap. If you dont have one and dont want to shell out the cash for one, see if you can find a friend who has one you can use, or, I believe you can rent them from Autozone; I think. Any DTCs that the ECM stored will be the biggest asset to any of us trying to help you, so definitely start there. Next, look around in the engine bay, specifically around the turbo, and see if any hoses are loose, leaking, or completely blown off. It sounds to me, based on what I've picked up over the years with similar symptoms to your case, that you could have blown a head gasket and sent the ECM into limp mode, or possibly the turbo seized up due to an oil delivery failure. Leaks on the engine would indicate the head gasket (and explain the white smoke and loss of oil) and if you find any hoses leaking, loose, or completely disconnected, ESPECIALLY disconnected or leading to the turbo, would explain the possibility that the turbo has seized as well as your loss of oil.
Thats about all the more I have to add, hopefully it helps at least get started until someone with a little more experience can chime in. Best of luck to you!

Wow! Sorry to hear that. Not sure if it is your turbo or maybe the cam follower crashing on you. Main thing get it diagnosed. If it is the cam/fuel pump Audi has a extended warranty (10 years, 120tmls) they will fix it all. If it is your turbo, blown head etc that could be a different issue.
Good luck, and please keep us posted.
