Default Flicker Gone

I changed the bulbs myself. Went in through the engine compartment, no need to remove bumper. It took about an hour, but if I have to do it again it will take about half that time. I learn slow!

Passenger side, remove the air box and your there. Driver side, remove the power steering and windshield fluid tanks, bend a few brackets and your there.

Beats the heck out of paying the dealer tons of cash for him to do the same thing. I bought the bulbs online for 160.00 for the pair. They work great.

Can you provide a link to where you bought the bulbs. I'm thinking of trying this as a weekend project. I'm sick of not being able to drive my car in the dark.
thanks!

Default Extending covereage on Bi-Xenon

I got a notice in the mail about some Audi's with Bi-Xenon lamps getting extended warranty coverage, and possible reimbersement for repairs done when the car was under warranty (new or CPO) up to 50,000 miles or 6 years. You should be getting the same thing in the mail soon.

My car is a 2005.5 with 56K miles. I'll probably be screwed and have to pay for it.

I confirmed with my local dealership (Steve White)...I'm screwed. They will not cover any of the costs and they claim they have never seen or heard of this problem before. They also confirmed that the cost for replacing the bulbs (which may or may not solve the problem) is about $500.
I'm going to call Protech, my local independent, to see if they have experience working with the HIDs and what they're approx. cost for repair is.

Taking the car to ProTech, my local independent shop, on Monday to get the bulbs replaced. They're doing the work for about $300...hopefully this does the trick.

check to see if the ballast takes on water, that will cause it to shorts out and causes to lights to flicker.
