I am replacing front wheel bearings on our 07 cabriolet. I have the old hub/bearing out and have them separated. Ready to press on bearing but there is a new ring that goes between the hub and bearing and am not sure which way it goes in. Does it go in flat side towards the hub or flat side towards the bearing? I didn't see the old one when it came apart.

 

Went ahead and pulled the other side. Original has the flat side towards the hub so that is what I will go with.
