If I was going to be a repital dealer ship then yes. If I could careless about my customers then no I would not change it.

Then you wouldn't be in business very long. A timing belt is a recommended service, NOT a safety requirement for a dealer to sell a car under most state laws.

So ONLY reason you would make a NON safety related repair to a car is IF you can increase the value of it. A timing belt does not, So to put 2.5k in a 10k car you can only really get 10k for is a bad investment. And your losing money. And 2.5k isn't worth the word of mouth that ONE person may or may even not say about ur dealer.

Your hearts in the right place.... But this is business.

You won't get the last word here. Greenmtrider wants to be a victim. He'll find a way.

This is awsome I started something. Victim no just a ranter, the car industry is huge we buy german cars for a reason. Engineering. This is the same reason I strayed away from jap motor dikes. I can remember as a young lad Ducati dominating the track. Wanting one was on my emidiate lists, this was even before I could drive a car legaly. So far out of reach $$$$ let alone the dolors for maintenance. Same with Audi dominating rally's every hence again $$$.

All was going well up to yesturday, timing belt and all the goodies that lie within were replaced. Nates Automotive did such a great job I took it back last night. This time for body work, some *** climbed in the side of me as he was pulling into traffic. The suppose Winnobago waved him on as if the cost was clear NOT. I just spent an entire day(Sunday) cleaning and waxing, polishing for a wedding this weekend. I wanted to do bodily harm but knew it would have gotten me no where. A great thanks to everyone in this post and it's readers.

Still have not heard from the insurance adjuster. Talking with the auto body tech he thinks not. Two new doors and hardware, two wheels, rear bumper. It suck due to having the timing belt replaced and the whole polishing and waxing that I spent time on.

They got both doors AND the rear bumper? What about the rear quarter panel? That sounds pretty bad. Book on the car is probably around $7k. Sounds like around $4-5k in damage. You might be able to fight for a "totalling" if you want to. Good luck on it.

When you get it back, don't wax the new paint for about 90 days. It needs time to breathe.

So it really sucks when you have to threaten legal action to Dairy Land Insurance company to get results. We are over 2 weeks from accident and just getting my claim settled. Just under $4,000 of damage, now onto the body shop. Nates Auto in Essex is doing the work, he warrenty's work as long as I own the car.
