Default Just Info, Cam problems

I recently had the check engine light come on in my 07 A4, took it to my shop, pulled the codes with a generic scanner and found faults for fuel pressure regulator. i knew about the cam issues they have been having and knew that the fuel pump is cam diriven so putting 2 and 2 together, i decided to call my buddy that works at the local audi dealer and see what he had to say, all he told me was bring it in...so i took it in and after agreeing to a 106 diagnostic fee, left it in the capable hands of the audi specific techs. about an hour later the tech that worked on the car, (which is a friend of mine) called me and said yep, its gonna get new cams, pump and follower. he said i shouldnt drive it and all that...unfortunately the parts were unavailable for 7-10 bus. days so they put me in a rental car (which they paid for) and of course i didnt have to pay the diagnostic charge. the car had 94k on it and they didnt dispute it, just paid for it and got it fixed. great service and overall reasonable to deal with. has anyone else had any problems getting audi to pay for it?

10 year / 110 k extended warranty.

the High Pressure Fuel Pump is the part that is hard to get. I've had customer's waiting almost 2 weeks before it came in

Nice that the dealer (or Audi) didn't try and pull one over on you. The rental is an added and nice surprise.
