Default Need The New FOB Remote ..... Need Help!

Hello Community,

I have just bought a new fob for my 2007 Audi A4 Quattro.
I need to program the new FOB to work with my A4.

I have one FOB for my A4 that's currently working and have another key that doesn't have a remote. I have heard that if I have two working keys for audi then i can program the third key (new FOB) myself without going to the audi dealership.

by the way, I don't have the user manual for audi.

Any assistance in this matter shall be greatly appreciated....

Thanks

The Cheapest way for you to get around this is, take your existing key (non remote fob type) carefully remove the transponder from it and transplant it into your new remote fob. This gets around the immobiliser issue and will let your new key fob start your car without any further costs. Your existing key will be left to allow you to get into the car via the door lock and nothing more, so use it as an emergency access to the car only.

Then you can use VCDS or other equipment to program the remote functions of your new fob.

What you have heard is wrong and you cannot program a new key even if you have two keys.

Other than this method, your at the wrath of the dealerships. As you have a B7 I wouldn't recommend anyone 'playing' with attempting to do the key, your looking at about £800 bill when it goes wrong!

Cheers
