Default Need some advice on buying...

What's up guys, I've always wanted a b7, they're absolutely gorgeous...

Thing is, I have $14-15k to spend and i wanted to know when it comes to maintenance and reliability... should i opt for the b6 instead? I was told they have lower maintenance cost, but i was also told the b7 is more reliable. Money isn't too much of an issue, I'm young and the only money I'd be spending is on the car on a waiters salary ~ a grand a month (i know its not much but I don't pay for anything else)

I'd love an 07 2.0T cause of the warranty but i doubt i can find 1 in good condition.

Obviously the b6 is more affordable, and I want to pay cash so I don't have to deal with monthly payments... any advice would be great, Thanks.

Search would definitely be your friend here. There is a ton of information on this forum Audizine and Audiworld.

Now, to answer your question from what I have read on the forums. The B6 is about typical for an Audi as far as reliability. The B7, however, is generally better. Generally, there are less things to be fixed on the B7 (the later the year the better the reliability) than on the B6.

I would think that parts might be slightly cheaper on the B6, but I don't think either would be 'cheap'.

There are several known 'issues' that are common to each car. One would be best to read about them before buying so that one could be looking out and seeing if those problems had been properly taken car of. If they had been, then the car would be good to go.

I imagine if you find a B7 it will be in pretty good condition (assuming it hasn't been in a crash) because they just aren't that old yet.

However, I'm not sure what you could get for $15k. Obviously the older it is the sooner warranty will run out (if it hasn't already).

But, I have an '07 and I haven't had to pay for anything yet except the standard service.
