New Audi Owner, 101 question, what oil do I use on my tranny?
I have a 2008 Audi A4 B7 with a CVT transmission. It needs transmission oil so i called the stealership and they sell the liter for $30
. Is their an oil out there that can be used that is also recommended for this transmission, if so, please advice what kind. Oh and by the way it does not have dealership coverage.
If not, I guess this is my welcome to the "your wallet is going to which you were driving a Kia...club."

I don't think you want to mess around with your CVT....put it this way, let's say you save $10...but you ruin your transmission, that's going to suck =)
Heck, I even use Audi Brake Fluid, mainly because even though the standard is Dot 4, if you do some digging as to who creates Audi Brake Fluid, you'll see that not all brake fluid is the same...

I'd have to agree with vliou. You don't want to save a few dollars on the actual trans. fluid and then end up paying out the *** when you mess it up. My husband uses all the Audi recommended stuff for everything our our cars. He wont ever let just anyone change the oil. He does it or he brings it to someone that is Audi certified.
