Reliability and warranty
Whats up guys???
-i got my audi a4 (NON-QUATTRO 2.0T) b7 in dec 31 2010 , with 24,000 miles on the odometer
-it is now early may and i just hit 40,000 miles
-at this rate ill be out of warranty no later than july 2011 when my warranty runs through november.
-my scheduled services are paid for by audi so i aint worried about that too much but i was wondering if i could get your guys input on reliability after the warranty is out???? should i consider financing another warranty through audi even though they run about 2 to 5 grand?!?!?! thats what the service specialists told me...
- or what advice other than being religous on oil changes and checking your oil weekly do you guys have??? they are beautiful cars and i would hate to ever get rid of it... plus its being financed so i currently have a lien holder on it and would hate to have to pay for some major expense i.e: tranny work, motor work... i understand cars come with required maintenance but yeah.
- thanks for your input guys

I take it your car is not a CPO. My B7's been good to me. Only a couple small non major items have had to be fixed, and I'm at 69,000 miles. Funny thing is, I checked with the dealer, and making the car a CPO was only a $1000 difference.
yeah mine aint cpo, every cpo car i had looked into was easily 3 grand more where im located. but then again i didnt do enough research when i purchased the car... so it all comes back to me, ive heard the 3.2l v6 is a really good motor similar to VW's VR6. bulletproof.
Fortunately the coils were recalled and can be replaced for free, and for the cam follower issue Audi just extended its warranty to 10 years, 120,000 miles. Now I had a 2000 Jetta GLX with the VR6, and I had nothing but expensive problems with it. Multiple things went bad twice. You woudn't believe it if you saw the long list of things that went bad on that car.

... my biggest fear is boost leaks and sensor problems with my 2.0t and that the burning oil problem gets worse, i was reading that there is some guys that burn a quart in between fill ups!!! im not burning any if i change my oil every 4000 miles , but lately ive been letting it pass me by so im changing it every 7k.
Yep that VR6 was pretty quick, and actually smoother running than the 2.0t in my A4. It also did better than it was rated for gas. My Audi barely meets it's ratings. You know its bad when between general maintenance, and all the repairs, the dealership didn't have to ask who was calling. They knew my voice.

CHA CHING! They can see and hear the $$$ rolling in!!! Not a good thing.

-i feel the same when i call the dealership they know me already, its kinda sad lol luckily everything has been under warranty so im good there, ... but ive been doing more research on these cars, and reliability is there as long as you treat the car right, and service it religously,
good to hear.
