Default Rpm running high

I have an 06 s line. Man is it sweet. 6spd. When I press the clutch in to shift, the rpms don't drop right away. Matter of fact they go up a bit and then drop down a second later. So the engine guns a little when I shift. This can't be right. So if anyone has any ideas about what it could be it would be most helpful. It is under warranty till june so I wanna get it fixed before then.

It is probably like my cars clutch. Mine engages very high in the peddle travel. My Jetta that I had, would engage/disengage the clutch very close to the floor. Switching to the Audi took some getting use to, because I had to adjust to when I let off the gas and hit the clutch at a different rhythm. If your clutch is like mine, and engages/disengages at close to the top of its peddle travel, you will need to let off the gas somewhat before you hit the clutch, or you will have way to much gas when you hit the clutch disengagement point and the engine will rev a bit. Since my Jetta's clutch engaged/disengaged at almost the floor, I could push the clutch, and by the time the peddle was at the right spot for engagement/disengagement, the gas was almost all the way up, not causing any engine rev. Hope this helps
