Hey this is my first post. I just picked up a used 06 A4. Its my first Audi.

I did a search on the subject but couldnt find anything with a sollution. My car has 27XXX miles and ive noticed while under full throttle in 1st and 2nd that there's a high pitched squeal in the upper rpm band. Sounds like a spinning tire but I know its not. Is this common and should I take it into the dealer since it has warranty?

Yes its a 2.0T.

Im familiar with deisel turbos but nothing that revs up as high as a I-4.

 

Is it a stick or manual?

 

Its a 6 speed with Continintal ProContact tires.

I actually saw some close friends of mine yesterday and one called me today and said when I left and I floored it he said they all had the opinion that my tires were spinning when the turbo spooled up and I had never mentioned the problem I was having to them. Thats definatly what it sounds like and I know those arent the greatest tires in the world (I will be changing in the near future). Is it really possible that a 200hp car is spinningtires through 2nd gear?

 

200 Hp A4's with quattro can NOT spin the tires on dry or wet asphalt in second gear, and even scratching them in first isn't easy. They will spin on glare ice and more than 3-4 inches of snow in 2nd gear though. I can't even hear the turbo spool on my car (windows and radio UP). If there is a noticable squeal when accelerating moderate to hard, take it to the dealer, something isn't right.
