Timing Belt and Water Pump

Did it without the locking tools a few months back, not needed, just put lock carrier into service position like Auditek said, Bently manual explains it if you have one and DIY with pics can be found on internet.

hey so i dont need yo use the cam locking tool?i allready changed the water pump and it seems the right cam gear moved when i took belt off.

Not on a 2.0.... Just align the timing marks on the cam and make sure the crank doesnt move before you put the belt back on

im about to replace my timing belt on my 2005 audi a4 b6 model tomorrow. how did your experience go, did you strip any bolts or did everything go smoothly?
