I would not go over 90k for any timing belt.

I have not seen one break on a 2.0 yet.... but the motor is still kind of new and i don't see many A4s yet with more than 80k.

Like the dood said. Audi will not cover the repair cost if it does not last 115. So after 4 years 50k...... its at your own risk

Or like me I have a CPO car so you get 6 year 100k to screw Audi. Im trading since my 6 years is up but if I did not have the CPO I would change it around 85k if I were going to keep a car with no warranty.

I personally feel a german car with no warranty is a monetary time bomb. When My head just went cause of a cam failure do you even know how much that would have cost? If metal had made it to my pan they said it would have been a new engine instead. I love warranty.

German cars are expensive to maintain, but there is just something about how they drive, that makes me keep coming back for more. Hopefully mine continues to keep on going trouble free for many years.

Heard the belt(s) in the CVT are/is made of kevlar from an audi tech. Not sure if it is fact? if kevlar was so good whey not for a timing belt?

Just did my 55k service. The dealer told me the timing belt has to be done with the 75K mile service
(and quoted $1550 for the whole works).

BTW, the 55K service burnt a hole of $800 :-(

Ninfns, that dealer either is not paying attention to the Audi bulletins, or hoped you hadn't seen the updated maintenace charts. Audi revised the timing belt change to 115,000 miles. It is no longer 75,000 miles.

Getting my timing belt done next week at the dealership..they quoted 1600 but originally 1900 after i said could get it done down south for 1200. Was pleased the dealership did 3 warranty upgrades without verifying the pieces were bad at 95k or so they said....audi will pay for it. anywho...my a4 B7 drives on at 95k....wonder when they are gonna tell me to redo the brakes...they got 95 on em...guess they will tell me that after the timing belt LOL!

UPDATE had timing belt replaced at my home stealership in Alabama instead of in varginia. Here are the costs Dec 13:

6 hrs labor = 668
water pump 100
coolant 24.33
tooth belt 80.00
tensioner 130.32
roller 68.00
roller 88.10
TOTAL $1159.00
