Belly pan / Under engine cover
Evening all, 1st post here,
Purchased a pre owned A4 Avant S-Line B8 not too long ago, coming back on the Motorway a few weeks ago felt some rubbing and found the front of the belly pan hanging off, Managed to buy some duct tape (9pm on a Saturday so limited options) and that got us home, managed to zip tie it up the next day and thought all was good, until it came off again today. I'm planning on buying a replacement, but won't be for a couple of weeks yet. My question is how 'ok' is it to drive without one for a while? would rather take it off than try to keep repairing it on the side of the road.
Also are there any stronger replacements available in the UK that anyone knows of?
TIA

It's okay to drive without it. It basically adds some wind aerodynamics, protects the engine from road trash, and catches oil drips so they won't stain your driveway (expensive foreign cars should not leak, but...). There are guys here who drive without them. You might want to buy some similar weight black plastic and try to pop-rivet a patch. it worked on my 2003 A6 for a decade.
