I just bought an '09 A4 2.0T last week. I am absolutely in love with this car. Coming from a car with no aux input and no tape deck (had to use an FM transmitter to listen to my music), the Audi Music Interface was a huge draw.

The car came with an iPod connectivity cable but it doesn't recognize my 5th generation (i believe) iPod video. I read somewhere that the iPod connectivity only supports iPod touch and iPhone, can anyone confirm this?

I also noticed that the cable supplied is the 4F0051510E, and it looks like i should be using the K version. (as per I Am Audi | The Standard for Audi | Articles I Models I Video I Pictures – Audi iPod Adapter Cable – MMI & AMI) NOTE: i do not have navigation.

I am new to all this, so I am wondering if I have a compatible iPod but wrong cable, or correct cable and wrong iPod? If the latter is the case, I plan on buying a 32gb sd card for $30 and using that.
