Received a strange message this week from the dealer from whom I bought my used A4 in 2014. They have a safety recall (from 2015!!!) that they suddenly want to apply for free and asked me to bring in my car. I was initially suspicious because there were not NHTSA TSBs outstanding, but I am going to do it. The recall says "On certain Audi vehicles with the 2.0L TFSI engine the diaphragm of the crankcase pressure regulating valve may have been damaged." Audi Action Code: 17F9

I am prepared for a very lowball offer to buy my immaculate car (160k with a recently rebuilt engine) or some pressure to buy a new one. Neither will work.

 

To close the loop, they did not find the valve needed replacement but they recommended about $5k in maintenance repairs. Asshats.
