New Audi owner question
First time Audi owner so please excuse my ignorance...
Seems like my A4 shifts down to 1st gear too early if my car detects I am slowing down. It happens when I let go of the gas around 30mph and car slows down but I feel the gear shifting; I never felt this in any of my cars before. I drove my wife's Q3 and it does not do this... Is this normal for A4? My car is 2015 A4 s-line by the way...
TIA

If you are saying it downshifts to 1st at 30 mph, that sounds wrong. Especially if the engine and drive train in the Q3 is similar and does not do it. I would expect it to permit some coasting in the higher gear to improve mpg. This is just another reason I prefer the MT6.

Ppgoal,
I wasn't clear in my post... Sorry...
I let go of the gas around 30mph and let the car stop on its own. Around 10mph, car downshifts to 1st gear... I see the rpm go up around to 2000 then come down to about 1000.
I see that there are other people experiencing this as well... I will let the dealer look at it when I take it in for 5k mile service but I am pretty sure they will tell me this is normal just like many other people had experienced...
