Default RPMs raise when holding brake and gas?

Does the 09 a4 have launch control available?

I haven't heard anything about the b8 having a "launch control" feature. However if the news trans is anything like that of previous generation tiptronics then you can hold the revs to a certain rpm (3-4g in my car) before the brakes are overpowered and start slipping. Launch control is usually only found on high horsepower sportscars.

So is it bad for the car to hold the breaks at those RPMS and let go to take off? How else would you simulate dropping a clutch and taking off?

ps - I just got my 09, and I love it!

Well if the car is trying to pull away, then pushing on the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal isn't such a good idea. Otherwise, that can be used for launch control, and sometimes for emissions related testing.

Though I am not sure if the new A4 has launch control just yet?

haha... thats how techs perform basic settings on some emission equipment...

between throttle by wire and ESP... your not gonna ever get a "launch"

you best bet is to turn off ESP and slam the gas pedal
