Shuddering and spewing smoke...now won't start
I was driving my 2009 A4 2.0T home the other day when it suddenly started shuddering and spewing smoke from the exhaust pipes a mile from home. The smoke smelled very strongly of gasoline. I made it home and checked the OBDII codes:
P0303 - Cylinder #3 misfire
P2293 - Fuel Pressure Regulator 2 Performance
I hoped this was just a bad spark plug, so I changed them yesterday. Indeed, one of the plugs was somewhat fouled and had a little oil on it. However, when I tried to start the car afterward, it made a single "thunk" and would not crank. My guess is that cylinder #3 is just not firing at all.
I'm thinking I should replace the coil pack for #3. However, I can't find a diagram showing the cylinder numbering for this engine. Which one is #3? Should I replace all four coil packs at the same time?
Is there anything else I should be looking at?
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, jagtoes.
Yes, I was saying that the engine would not turn over, but I think I just didn't reseat one of the connections properly. I just replaced the ignition coil packs and the car does now start. However, it is still in the same condition as when the problem started: shuddering and spewing gasoline-laden smoke. I actually watched it rhythmically shooting out smoke from the exhaust like a machine gun, so I think it's pretty clear that one of the cylinders is not firing at all.
I think I'm going to have to tow it to the shop for professional help...

In case anyone was wondering, here was what finally fixed my problem:
- Replaced fuel pressure sensor
- Replaced injector in cylinder #3
After the spark plugs, coil pack, and these fixes, it feels a little bit better than it was before this all started.

Please tell me, after fixing these things you have stated, did the vehicle have any more problems? and where should i get the fuel pressure sensor? Did you have to replace the HPFP?
