Default Unlock the trunk with battery terminal disconnected

Hello,

Not how I expected my first post here to be but anyways, please help.

I disconnected the negative terminal on my 2012 Audi A4 and locked the trunk by mistake. I can't unlock it now. Tried to access the trunk from the backseat but couldn't seem to remove it to release the latch.

Read somewhere I could hook an external power source to somewhere on the alternator or headlight terminal just to switch on the electronics to unlock the trunk? Don't want to blow a fuse though.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

And why can't you just hook up the neg. battery cable and then open the trunk.

Because the battery is in the trunk.

Is there a negative terminal somewhere in the engine bay?

Issue resolved!

Found a positive terminal in the engine bay just near the wipers. Sneaky b*stard!

Could you unlatch the rear seat(s) or are the latches locked? Both seats should swing down giving you clear access to the trunk. There is a white release handle on the back of the trunk panel.
