Hi Guys. After replacing most parts on my 23 year old coupe I'm stuck on my starter motor. I've got the new one in place but it still won't start. ( I'm beginning to wonder wether I've been mis diagnosed).
I've done all the usual things like cleaning all electrical contacts, earth straps and so on. The starter wire coming from the ignition itself was a little corroded inside so I ran a separate wire to no avail. The ignition barrel itself is new too, so it can't be that. I can hear the starter relay kick in when I turn the key too. It is a recon starter that was checked before purchase and before installing.
Alternator problems a few months back may have put undue strain on the battery (cells) so it may even be that.
Is there something obvious I'm missing? I need your help soon, I don't know how much longer my legs will hold out cycling to work. :-(

The car in question is a 91 coupe. 2.3e 5 pot manual.
