woah calm down.. i knew it would need work (i bought it at an auction) i just dont want ppl ripping me off. It was 900 bucks and i put money into it already.. i would fix it up more to be perfect, but i can't keep it bec i cant ship it back to the states. I love the car and want it working right.. but ppl over here take advantage of military folk bec they think they don't know better. By CHEAP radiator, i ment less that 300 euro... im not whining at all.. i just dont want to get ripped off.

Generally things in Europe cost more, a lot more than the same exact item in the US. However when I bought my Audi I knew that parts were going to be expensive. So far I have been lucky and have been able to avoid having to take my car to the dealer. Parts, now that is a whole different issue. I spend about $1K for parts per year in maintenance to keep my car going and these are not dealer prices.

Yeah i try to take parts off cars in some salvage yards I have found..some are kinda hidden. But i wanna look for more for parts (and extra parts). There is supposed to be some big one by me, but its just been WAY tooo cold to go parts hunting. I am trying to take care of the car better than the previous owner.. bec it was another military guy and most military ppl drive the wheels off the cars ya know. I put some redline gear oil in it (according to 20v.org its good stuff) but for some reason the front diff is dripping a bit. I love the car and i just want it to work. I dont mind payin the money. After all.. its not everyday that you can drive a audi coupe.. I never seen one before until we arrived in germany. Thanks for all the info everyone. I do appreciate it

the coupe is very highly rated in the UK and holds its price well plus its a wonderful looking beasty, why not phone the breakers yard and get them to remove a rad for you "probably cost a few more bucks" worth it to keep your pinky's warm

The only problem with getting one from a bone yard is that you have to be careful what you remove or you just might end with one that is just as old. The original radiators and heater cores are good for about ±12 years then they leak like a sieve. It was the same with my 4000S and 100Q radiators. If you can scour the yard, look for a later date code that might suggest that it was already replaced by previous owner, you will get more mileage out of it. Otherwise you will be doing the same job twice.
