Is there a switch to reset an air bag or do I need to visit a dealer to clear it off?

 

The airbag warning light? It has to be turned off using VagCom - trying to disconnect the battery or something similar won't do it. A dealer will charge you an hour's labor for a process that takes about four minutes total. Look for an independent shop that deals with European cars to do it - chances are it'll be cheaper. Or if you have a laptop, download VagCom, buy the interface cable on eBay, and you can do it (and a ton of other stuff) yourself.
