Default audi 90 won't start hot

I have a 90 Audi 90 with the 5cyl, non-quattro. It starts fine when cold but will crank forever and sometimes not start when hot. Pushing it off it cranks everytime. Anyone have any success solving this problem?

Thanks

A lot of the time on the newer cars, it's caused by the coolant temp sensor reporting erroneous engine temps to the ECU. Cold starting a car uses different fueling maps than hot start. If the sensor reports it wrong, the ECU fuels the engine incorrectly.
