Default clear coat

I just bought a 2011 Q5. Should I spend the extra $800 and get the clear coat and interior protected?

If it was me, pocket the money and do it yourself.

I got the 3M Ventureshield dealer-installed as we have a lot of Winter sand/stone road rash (negotiated from $800 to $550).

I didn't get the "teflon" interior coatings tho' as I can do that myself.
