blinker problems
Recently my 2003 audi a4 quattro, 1.8t, started having right turn signal problems, it works, but then it cuts out and my dash waring comes on and the arrow start blinking faster. it will work agian for a little bit but then it will do the same thing, the light is out when the flashers and turn signal is on, but it comes back on for a flash or 2 when i turn them off and back on, help please, i think its some relay or switch i hope, if the bulb was toast it wouldnt work at all. thanks for any help
I am having the same problem currently. Have made some calls & have figured out the Relay turn signal is probably bad. The turn signal is connected with the emergency flasher. Audi sells for $140, have seen on Ebay for $90, made in Germany. I am going to see if I can personally replace the part. good luck
Thanks go2slp for you inquiry.
My update, well I purchased a new Turn Signal Relay/Emergency Flasher part a couple weeks ago. Just a little leary of installing by myself, buddy who mentioned he would help and advise has been busy.
As a reminder I own a 2003 A6/3.0 Audi.
Have read and been advised by a couple of nice and knowledgable folks it is not that hard to install.
Do know on my vehicle that the radio really does not come into play.
Also advised by a Audi Mechanic that if you press on the emergency flasher hard, long etc for a bit, than your blinkers start working it is more than likely the Turn Signal/Emerg Flasher is the problem.
Just concerned about taking out the $200 piece of moulding in dash and the wiring of the new part.
Kind of funny, live in the NW just south of Seattle, when the cooler & damp weather hit last week, my blinkers were working, but again not all the time, and the last time I drove my vehicle they did not
Hopefully will get to this week.
