Default Encoding a key without the original car radio

Is there anyone that can tell me if it is possible to bypass the radio code when you have to encode you new key. I have a Adui A4 1995, to encode my new key the computer is asking for my radio serial number which I do not have as I bought the car 2nd hand with another radio in. What do I do now?

so is the new radio an Audi radio that needs a code to work? if not, what code you use shouldn't matter, any 4 digit code I'd think would be fine.

Didn't they use to hide a backup of the code on the rear wheel well by the spare or something????

it is not an audi radio, it is a nromal sony radio..my original key still works but I have to encode my new key but without the original audi installed radio's 14 digit code they cannot do that as the computer is asking for that number..this means if my current key is damaged the car will not be able to run at all...is there any way one can by pass the code for the radio?

Thanks I will look in th boot but I cannot recall seeing anything there.
