help with head unit removal
What radio is it?
I have a concert radio and i fashioned a flat piece of hard plastic into a key. Simply put; it was thin enough and narrow enough to fit into the slot in the front of the radio then i just chopped of one corner at about a 60* angle and pushed it in. I only made one and pushed it in which released the one side, pulled the radio out slightly then pushed it in the other side and it slid out. Took me 5 mins to make the "key" and 1 minute to remove the radio.
As far as hard wiring the rear speakers, mine had a built in amp which had to be powered. As far as i know the rear speakers are 2 ohms (normal speakers are 4 ohms) which will either damage your H/Unit or your H/Unit will damage the speakers. Just check that out first. Alternately, if you also have a built in amp, and it is the same setup, the plug for the rear speakers has a pin for power - this can be hard wired to the power that is on when the key is in accessory/on position.
I hope i made some sense.

do i really need four? the radio only has a slot for 2.
and i wanna hard wire my rear speakers to the headunit (im guessing...since theyre amped they wont play unless i do. or so ive been told)
If you have not yet removed the Head Unit, or are still trying to avoid buying the keys... If you happen to have collar stays from a button up shirt. Just the plastic thing that goes in the end of the collar. Use those. You already have them, plus they work fantastic. just my 2 cents.
Just go to Walmart and buy the keys. They're about $4. A concert stereo has two thin slots along the bottom. The newer ones have four small square holes. Those are the ones that use the Ford style keys. For a concert headunit, get the flat-blade removal keys listed for Audi. Use them to remove the head unit.
The concert has an amp like any other head unit, but only for the front speakers. The rears are powered by a separate amp mounted on the driver's rear magnet assembly. The head unit puts an amplified signal out to the front speakers, and a line-level signal out to the rear amp, which pumps it up to speaker level for the rear speakers.
