Hello. I'm new here so I hope I picked the right forum. I signed up because I really want to communicate with some other Audi owners about their experience with the Nav system.

I have a 2013 A4 with MMI Navi system. There is an elevation indicator on the right side of the screen and when I cold start the car it will begin randomly changing the elevation numbers (from -260 feet to 68,000 feet).. It will finally "give up" and settle on a number around 500 feet (an estimated elevation for my area). I turn the car completely off for about 30 secs then start it back up, the elevation will usually correct itself. This has happened in my car as well as a 2013 S4 that I had as a loan car. The dealer says that corporate is working on a software fix, but I'm curious to know if other people have noticed this problem?

I normally wouldn't care about the elevation, but I think it's causing my GPS to track incorrectly. When I exit my office garage, I go left but the arrow goes right, and the further I drive, the more I am off-map. This sucks when I need to set a destination from my office. The GPS is basically useless unless I drive a few minutes then cold-restart the car.

So, has anyone else experienced either of these symptoms? If so, do you have any sort of work around?

Also - does anyone know if you can reboot MMI without turning the car off and back on? That would at least help me after it runs a few minutes.

The dealer has replaced the head unit, replaced the "fin" and tried various software updates. The problem became noticeable after my free T-Mo service expired, and I've heard both "that was masking the problem" and "that has nothing to do with the problem"

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. And if you don't have this issue, would you mind checking your elevation numbers next time you cold start (if you have similar gen MMI?) .. I am thinking a lot of people just didn't notice the weird elevation numbers.. I never did until the tracking issue started.
