You should be ok with that i was thinking that you were tapping off the rear speakers. (i confused u with another person) Running off the fuse is easy there is pic's for a boost guage install either on this site or another audi site that shows what to tapp. But if you already have this ran to the amp and are not getting any interference from it id leave it. Check the wire when its in use from time to time to make sure its not getting hot.

You should check your voltage with meter to make sure your getting 12v and make sure you have a fuse inline its possible you could fry your ipod or atleast damage it if you run to much or to little power to it.
