*Petition Audi* Pixelation of the Drivers Display Problems? You have them, come here *MUST READ*
FWIW, I just bought an '01 A4 and both the dash and audio displays are perfect. Could have been replaced (I didn't get any service records with the car), not sure how I could tell. I used to have a '99 A6 Avant that did have this problem, though. And I think that every other Audi I looked at over the last couple of weeks had this to some degree.
I guess I'm in too but where are we in this petition effort? My service departement told me about Module Masters and apparently they are the bees nees for instrument cluster repair. I didn't realized they repair ABS modules too so I might go to them for that too.
Have owned 3 Audis...great driving cars wouldn't have another for trips. All had irritating issues. Ironically, it's like at a certain mileage, X is scheduled to act up, leak, break or manifest its poor design flaw. I now have had an 1999 A6 for some time and it too has the auto dim mirror failure with driver side, Rear View and recently the LCD panel fades from dim to black in any heat at all(One would think it would get better as AC cools down. But it doesent. And, it just fades to black). Hard to speculate about the cause as I havent had time to examine it. But the earlier Audi had a similar problem caused by the multilayer panel circuit card through holes separating as the board warmed (Gradually increasing resistance to ground). Resoldering the through holes on the board resolved the problems. Interesting comment regarding touching the flat driver chip on the cable in an earlier post.
