Smile 02 A4 Driver Window Problem

Hello, I have recently acquired a 2002 A4 1.8 Quattro 5Spd. The driver's window will not go up or down. Here is what I have done so far.

Pulled door panel, regulator motor and four button switch.

I have checked the regulator and can grab the window by hand and pull it up and down in the track The regulator splines rotate fine when this is done. I think this means the regulator, cables, etc are in tact and operating freely? The regulator appears to have been replaced as it is dated 04.

I have connected the electrics, turned the ignition switch on and pushed and pulled the driver side button to try an get the regulator motor to spin, nothing. The motor is not bolted to the regulator at this point.

I have attached a new motor and performed above, still nothing.

I have attached a new 4 button switch and performed same with still nothing.

All other windows go up and down with either switch.

Can someone point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance for your time.

Regards, Hank.

Default 02 A4 Power Window Problem.

I verified that both 30A fuses located under dash behind fuse box are good. What's next? Thanks.

You tested a new switch, so that wasn't it... you tested a new motor, it did not spin. So it's the wiring in the door, some where it's kinked/ broken.
Test the motor in another location, passenger side, it it spins, it's the driver's door wiring.

the wiring from the switch to the module is only like 4 inches long tho.

Yep new motor and new switch. All other windows work from both the old and new master switch? I don't know what to check next. Thanks for the posts, will appreciate any other ideas. Regards, Hank.
