Default 1997 Keyless Entry

I know "done to death" but I searched and am inconclusive. I have a 1997 A4 1.8T Sport and I did not receive a keyless entry when I got it. I read on this forum that ALL of the 1997s and above have the keyless option in the back, some just don't have the remote. (Is this true?) I then read that switchblades have to be a specific FCC# in order to work with the 97s. The FCC number on the 94-97 non-switchblade remote is FCC ID : MZ2 410 819 4. I found THIS on ebay and would like to know if I would be able to successfully make it work. I also read that FCC codes on the switchblades that are MZ2 410 819 64 (or 63) will work. ADVICE? EXPERIENCE?I know its lame to be this into getting a switchblade key, but I am not cool enough to not care.

Thanks,
Steve

+1^ I have a 1997 A4 1.8T Sport also, it only came with one key, and would also like to know if there is a switchblade key that will work.

Try the A4 forum, if you haven't already.
