So my 98 2.8 5 speed was in my garage for a few months had to do chain guides. One failed started to misfire. Replaced guieds and chains and replaced all the timing accessories and pullies with German parts. I have the timing tools and my matked where all spot on. Put it all together started it and runs great drives great no misfire and accelerates great. Except I hear this whining coming from the engine like a supercharger but it's not supercharger. Thought it might be a pully from sitting. Removed accessories belt and whining is still present so ruled out accessories. I Removed timing covers used stethoscope nothing there. It sounds more to the rear if the engine. And not from head area more in the back bottom side. Just drawing a blank. I'm going to look into oil pump diagrams see if it could be a bearing in there but if anyone has any idea or thoughts let me know. Thank you.
