2.7t sudden loss of power
Hi guys!
I got an Allroad 2003 2.7t with 120k miles
Recently after pulling from a stop sign the engine lost power and went dead.
On restart it revs up a bit and shuts down immediately unless I keep it above 3000 rpm
Timing belt done 40k ago and torque conv/valve body done 25k ago.
Any help highly appreciated!

initial thoughts..
fuel pump? fuel filter?
CEL?
fuel+air+spark=run sounds like you have spark, so either a fuel problem or an air problem
really need to hook it up to a reader and pull codes.

1/2 to 1 tooth off will either advance, or retard the timing by a little bit which could cause your problems. Since it has been 40K miles on your current timing belt without this issue I would be skeptical of that occurring. Your timing belt has some pretty aggressive "teeth" and there is really no way for it to skip (improbable but not impossible). You may have a problem with the camshaft position sensor. A scan should tell you if that is the problem.
good luck
