My 97 Quattro 2.8 requires more cranking to get the engine started upon cold starts. It is rough momentarily after it does fire off, stumbles for a few seconds! Also, after a few minutes warming up, while in park,if you punch the gas pedal for a second, it hesitates before bursting up.

Any one have a clue?

 

have you checked the coils,coil harness ,spark plugs, i had the same problem in my tt it turned out to be the coils and bad gas hope this helps
