Default 2000 A6 2.7T Base - Removing SAI System

Emission control is all well & dandy but I'm not fixing anything on the SAI system again because, well I don't care about 10 seconds of start up emissions.

Just so I don't make more of a problem for myself, here is what I believe must be done, and what I need to know what to do (indicated with *xxx*'s)

1.) remove smog pump
2.) remove hose to combi's
3.) remove combi's
*4.) What do I do with the part that the grey vacuum line connects to from combi?*
*5.) Is there something I can buy to seal the hole from where combi is or does it have to be fabricated? Same for the sensor the combi connects to?*
6.) Flash SAI system from ECU
*7.) Does the cat need to be altered/removed/moved as to not mess anything up, now that it wont be heated up faster on cold starts?*

I also plan on gutting the cats out to gain some HP, I know the post cat o2's need to be relocated with a new nipple but what is the proper procedure? Can I remove the cat's entirely & move the o2's into a location as to not throw a CEL?

Thanks in advance!

Do you need to pass smog inspection?

Default Not until April 2013

If I had to pass emissions I'd just run the car to opp temp & clear the codes w/ my VAG COM before I left. I just want to delete it since its purely for start up emissions control. One more thing to throw money at again.

That idea doesn't work. When you clear the fault codes, you red-light 5 of the 8 readiness codes in the system. It'll take up to 100 miles of driving for them to go green. A 2000 can only have one failing readiness code. You'd have to warm up the car, clear the codes, drive the necessary miles, and then pull in and have it inspected before it cools enough to need the SAI system again.
