I have a 2003 Audi A4 3.0 v6 CVT auto transmission 2wheel drive. Earlier the car was jerking and hesitating when it switched gears and the "PRND" were blinking on the cluster. The most recent jerk resulted in the car to not go into any gear at all. When I put it into reverse or drive it does nudge a little bit as if it put into gear but when you accelerate it only revs up the RPMs and doesn't move. what can be the problem?

 

Bad news.. Either the the TCM (Transmission Control Module) is going bad, it is the cheaper and easier of the two to replace, or the transmission itself is failing. THAT will be expensive. You can probably find a used transmission to put in it and save some money. But the flashing PRND on the dash means the TCU is experiencing technical difficulties getting the trans to do what it needs to do mechanically..
