Default 40 amp fuse next to cpu

Hello,
I recently posted 2000 A4 2.8 won't start and no cluster lights. I was wondering if anyone knows what the 40 amp fuse powers that is next to the cpu. I found this to be blown. before putting in a new one and possibly blowing it I'm not sure which direction to look.
Any help is appreciated. Mark

Well, being a 40AMP fuse means there is a LOT of stuff on that circuit. I'd put a new fuse in it and see if that fixes the issues. Sometimes fuses can get weak over time and just blow under loads way under their rating. Start with the simplest solution first.

Thanks' Dave, that is what I was thinking I'm hoping the local auto parts store has it, it's a oversized fuse. electrical what a head ache.
